Visit St. Augustine Church in nearby Bantay and climb up its belfry to get a breath-taking view of the town.
The Bantay Belfry Tower is only ten minuites away from Vigan. It is a known tourist destination not only for its historic background but also because of the great view of the city when you reach the top. It is said that the tower was used as part of the defense of the city. It is a watchtower where they can alert people when there are approaching enemies.It is located in Bantay District of Vigan along the National Highway and by walking a few more meters you will find the St.Agustine Church which is one of the oldest church in Ilocos but because it was damaged during the World War II it was reconstructed in the year 1590.
